Shrikhand is one of the simplest Indian desserts. It is extremely easy to make and very delicious. It requires yoghurt in its thickest form. I use greek yoghurt, which eliminates the additional step of hanging the yoghurt in a muslin cloth to drain the water, which is usually done with the Indian yoghurt.
Saffron is the hero of the recipe. To get some color, soak the saffron in 1 tspn warm milk for a couple minutes before mixing with the yoghurt. You can be more creative with the flavors and nuts. The various combinations of pista, almonds, dried figs. What better way to get your daily protein intake than a dessert ;)
Ingredients
1 cup greek yoghurt
1/2 cup raisins
1 tsp saffron
1/2 tsp cardamom
1 tbsp truvia (sugar substitute)
Directions
1. In a bowl add all ingredients and mix well. Garnish with extra raisins. Trust me, thats the recipe :)
